A city proud of its own

Cork businesses wear where they are from.

Cork is Ireland's second city, and Cork businesses tend to carry their origin openly, from the food and drink producers who sell at the English Market and at weekend markets to the pharmaceutical, technology and life-sciences firms in and around the city.

A strong logo helps a Cork brand travel. It has to work on a label on a shelf in another county, on a banner at a market stall, and on a website that a customer in another country finds by chance.

ELRO designs the logo and every version of it from one approved design, so the label, the stall and the screen all show the same brand.

What Cork businesses ask of a logo

Built for labels, stalls and screens.

  • Labels and packaging

A one-colour logo prints cleanly on stamps, labels and kraft paper, and the symbol on its own fits a jar lid or the neck of a bottle.

  • Market stalls and pop-ups

The horizontal logo and its reversed version cover banners, aprons and signs, in daylight and under cover.

  • Food and drink

A symbol that stands on its own suits stickers, tote bags and social profiles, so customers recognise you before they read the name.

  • Technology and life sciences

A favicon, an app icon and a reversed logo for dark slides give a young company a finished look for investors and customers.

  • Tourism and hospitality

Menus, signs and a website that share one palette and typeface look established from the first season.

  • More than one decision-maker

Share a link so a partner or a trusted customer can vote on the concepts, with no account to create.

The Cork picture

The second-busiest place in Ireland for new companies.

Cork came second only to Dublin among Irish counties in 2025, with 2,552 new companies according to CRIF Vision-net, which builds its figures from Companies Registration Office data. In the first nine months of 2026, new company formations in Cork were up 7 per cent on the same period of 2025.

These figures count companies. Sole traders and partnerships, such as many food producers and tradespeople, come on top of them.

How it works

Design around market days, not office hours.

Tell ELRO your business name and what it does in a sentence, then tap like or dislike on styles. ELRO makes three distinct concepts for you, you choose one, and your credit includes three rounds of changes. Approve it and ELRO builds the full pack.

There is nothing to visit and no diary to match, so it fits around a producer's early starts and a founder's evenings equally well.

Before you register or print

Check the name, and the rules for your trade.

Search the Companies Registration Office for company names, and search the Intellectual Property Office of Ireland and EUIPO for trade marks, before you print labels or order signs. ELRO does not provide trademark clearance.

If you sell food or drink, labelling and registration rules apply separately. ELRO designs your logo and does not advise on them. A Local Enterprise Office in Cork can point you to the right people.

Questions, answered.

Does ELRO design logos for Cork businesses?

Yes. ELRO is an online service, so it works for a business anywhere in Cork city or county, in any sector. You tap the looks you like and ELRO designs the logo and the files that go with it.

Will the logo work on a product label or a stamp?

Yes. The pack includes one-colour logos and the symbol on its own, both suited to tight spaces and simple printing, plus vector SVG files for your printer.

Is ELRO a design studio in Cork?

No. ELRO is an online service rather than a studio you visit, so there are no meetings to arrange. It works the same anywhere in Ireland.

Can my business partner help choose the logo?

Yes. Invite them with a link. They give feedback and vote once on the concepts and once in each round of changes. They do not need an account.

Does ELRO check that my Cork brand name is free to trademark?

No. ELRO does not provide trademark clearance. Search the company and trade mark registers before you register or rely on your identity commercially.
